The founding principle of the DRYSA is to provide all school age children with the opportunity to compete in basketball on a more competitive venue then the local parks and recreation leagues. Of equal importance, we provide mentoring and teach the importance of a good education to help build our athletes to become responsible citizens as adults.

With a very discipline and detail oriented coaching style, our coaches stress good sportsmanship and also build an appetite to compete every time our athletes step on the hardwood. While with any youth sports program having fun is important to keep the athlete focused, but we also like to teach our children to have a winning attitude while competing at a high level.

The Association is self-funded by the President, registration fees, team fundraisers, and a few charitable donations from members of the community. We take pride in our ability to be able to build our program from the grass roots and we urge our members to share that same enthusiasm.
